5 Minutes with Emma Myland

5 minutes with Emma, our new Programmatic Trader

When did you join?

March 2021

Describe your role in a nutshell

As part of the ‘in-housing’ of Captures programmatic activity I look after all programmatic briefs that come in - this includes setting all campaigns up in our DSP (Demand Side Platform), implementing optimisation strategies, and reporting on campaign performance and insight. As well as making sure we are ahead of the curve on any new industry opportunities within the programmatic space.

How has it been creating this role from scratch?

Whilst it has been a challenge getting up to speed and making sure everything is in place, it’s been exciting to be able to build from the ground up and implement things from afresh. It means I am able to shape everything, and test and learn different approaches.

What aspects of your role keep you challenged and curious?

Programmatic is a very fast paced industry and is constantly moving into new channels - keeping up to date with the industry trends, and regulatory changes means that I’m continually learning and developing new skills.

What do you enjoy most about working at Capture?

Whilst I haven’t been here long, the opportunity to take ownership of my role and shape the way I work has been the thing I’ve enjoyed most so far. Everyone has also been very friendly and welcoming, and there is a real supportive culture within the business.
